Day 19: Buffalo Wild Wings

Tonight I had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings with Jared.  There is nothing like wings and a Blue Moon beer.  Mmmm mmm good.

Day 18: Driving Home

This was my view driving home from school tonight.  I'm taking a practical math class and it practically sucks.  It's going to be the longest short-semester ever.

Day 17: Happy Birthday Toby!

Toby turned 11 today. He's such an old man!

Day 16: Casselman River Bridge

On the way home from DC, we took the scenic route and stopped in Grantsville, Maryland, to take pictures of the Casselman River Bridge.

Day 15: Smithsonian Castle

The Smithsonian Castle was probably the coolest looking building in D.C.  My only disappointment was that I didn't get to see more of the building.  I want a full tour of everything.

Day 14: DC Trip

I decided that today's picture needed to be something that just screams "Washington D.C." so I went with the Washington Monument.  I have to say that I think it looks taller in pictures.  When I saw it in person, my first thought was "I thought it'd be taller than that."

Day 13: Fuschias

I bought these (and several other flowers) in May and I haven't killed them yet.  It's a miracle!

Day 12: Hair Cut

I decided to go short for the summer.

Day 11: Pool Party

Today was the second annual pool warming party.  I had class until 5:30, so I was fashionably late.  Of course, by six, it wasn't quite warm enough for me to want to get in, but I did dangle my feet.

Day 10: Homework

I have a six-page paper I have to write for my CIA class. I was trying to get it all done tonight so that I could turn it in tomorrow in class (instead of having to drive it out to campus on Thursday), but alas, I couldn't quite get it done. I do have 4.5 pages typed, so it's a good start.

Day 9: Ludington State Park

Since Dad is working out of town, we (Mom, Ash, Toby, Rodney, and me) spent Father's Day hiking in Ludington State Park.  It was awesome.  We saw at least 10 deer (including three fawns that were jumping and playing), a raccoon, and a large bird (maybe a heron?).

Day 8: Amy's Birthday Party

Today was Amy's birthday BBQ.  We hung out on the San Juan deck and had hot dogs, potato salad, fruit salad, and jello shots.  Good times, good times.

Day 7: Squirrel in a Tree

I had no idea what I was going to take a picture of today.  I visited Gram today, but didn't think about taking a picture until three hours later.  Anyway, so I was at home doing homework and playing fetch with Rodney.  I threw his squirrel toy and it landed in the tree.  I thought it was funny.  So, here it is.

Day 6: Stricken E & Stricken Ann

When I got home from school, I made the rounds watering my flowers (perhaps you'll see pictures of them on a later date).  Anyway, I saw this giant mushroom in the yard and just knew that I had to get a picture of the Strickens on it.  First I put them under the mushroom, because it's so tall, but the grass is too tall and you don't really get the effect I was going for.  So, they ended up on top of it.  [And then I had fun making it all fancy using FotoFlexer.]

Check out the many adventures of the Strickens on their blog.

Day 5: Belated Birthday Lunch

Doug took me to China Palace for my birthday.  I had the teriyaki chicken (and will be having the leftovers for dinner) and it was so yummy!  Thanks, Doug! [Oh yeah, and Doug sent me the lunch invitation today, so I wasn't prepared with my camera—which is at home—so I had to take a picture with my camera phone, which explains the low-quality of the picture.]

Day 3: Me-oh-my, I love pie...

For my birthday, Mom made me a coconut cream pie.  Okay, it was from a box, but still...  Mom hates the taste and smell of coconut, so it's pretty awesome that she made me a coconut cream pie.  The crust is super sweet, so I can only eat it in small quantities, which is probably a good thing.  Thankfully, I have Ashley to help me eat it.

Day 2: Quilt Day

Today was quilt day.  Once a month, a group of us get together to make baby quilts for places like the Pregnancy Resource Center.  This is the quilt I finished today, which will be put on Etsy.com.  [Will be linked shortly.]  The money from the sale will go towards buying more fabric/supplies for our group so that we can continue making quilts for babies.

Day 1: My 29th Birthday

I chose this for my first picture and I will take a self-portrait on the last day of this project to see how much (or how little) I've changed in a year.
